Ready to Get Spooked? What to Know About Egypt’s Upcoming Horror Film ‘Mamsos’
If abandoned buildings, Egyptian urban legends, and stories about jinn are your kind of horror, Mamsos might be one to add to your watchlist. The upcoming Egyptian horror film has officially dropped its trailer, offering a first look at a story that brings together a group of young paranormal investigators, a chilling mystery, and a nightmare that quickly spirals out of control. With a promising lineup of young talent and a team of familiar names behind the scenes, here’s what to know about Mamsos ahead of its cinema release.
A Paranormal Adventure That Takes a Terrifying Turn
Mamsos follows a group of young paranormal investigators and friends who set out to explore some of Egypt’s most famous abandoned and allegedly haunted locations. Their mission? To investigate the urban legends and myths surrounding jinn and uncover what might really be lurking behind these stories.
But what begins as an adventure driven by curiosity soon takes a sinister turn. As the group encounters a series of inexplicable events, they find themselves trapped in a reality-blurring nightmare, where the line between myth and terrifying reality becomes harder to distinguish.

Led by Rising Young Talent
Leading the film are Yasmina Elabd and Omar Rozik, two young actors who have been making their way onto Egyptian screens.
Yasmina Elabd recently starred alongside Nour El Nabawy in the romantic drama Wala Kan Ala El Bal, following her appearances in Midetrem and 50/50.
Meanwhile, Omar Rozik recently appeared in Lea’bet Gohanam, a three-episode story featured in the El Qessa El Kamla series, after joining Ras Al Af’aa and Ali Klay during Ramadan 2026.

A Diverse Cast of Familiar Faces
Beyond its leads, Mamsos brings together a wider cast featuring Tara Abboud, Youssef Raafat, Abdelrahman Mohamed, and Eyad Nassar.
The mix of younger performers and established talent adds another layer of interest to the film, especially as the story unfolds around a group of friends facing increasingly unsettling circumstances.

The Team Bringing the Horror to Life
Behind the camera, Mamsos is directed by Yasser El Yasiri and written by Salah El Gehiny, bringing together two names to watch as the film prepares to make its way to cinemas.
The project is co-produced by Salah El Gehiny’s G Creations and Mohamed Nassar’s Nas Film, in partnership with Film Square. With its focus on Egyptian folklore, haunted locations, and the mysteries surrounding jinn, the film looks to bring a distinctly local angle to the horror genre.

While the trailer has offered a first glimpse into the film’s unsettling world, there is still more to discover about what awaits the group. Until its cinema release, Mamsos is one Egyptian horror title worth keeping on your radar.
