Tara Emad Is Hollywood-Bound: A Look Back at Her Career

Features By Malak Shalaby 24 October 2026

Tara Emad is heading to Hollywood with The Mummy: Book of the Dead, set to hit cinemas on October 15, 2027. While details about her character remain under wraps, we already know she’ll be sharing the screen with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz.

But before we get into her Hollywood debut, let’s rewind to the moment that started it all: that iconic Sparkle ad where she asked, “Ana mafesh had yekteshfny?” (“Will anyone spot my talent?”). Well, Tara, they definitely did! From her early acting days to characters that kept us guessing, her journey has come with quite a few plot twists of its own.

1 Al-Gama’a

At just 18, Tara made her acting debut in Al-Gama’a, stepping into the world of television shortly after competing in the Miss World for Teens pageant. What started with modeling was quickly turning into something bigger, setting the stage for the acting career that followed.

2 El Feel El Azraa 2

Forget playing it safe. In El Feel El Azraa 2, Tara took on the role of Mermaid, a deeply unsettling character. It leaves you wondering what’s going on inside a character’s head, and Tara certainly wasn’t sticking to the girl-next-door formula.

3 Ma Tarah Laysa Kama Yabdo

In Ma Tarah Laysa Kama Yabdo, Tara plays Sarah, a journalist whose organized routine starts falling apart when mysterious WhatsApp messages begin predicting strange events. Every time a warning comes true, the message vanishes, leaving Sarah questioning her own reality. From unexplained voices to a seriously terrifying elevator ride, the series keeps the suspense coming, and Sarah right at the center of it all.

4 Siko Siko

In Siko Siko, Tara switches things up as Dalia, the boss of Yahya, played by Essam Omar. Their dynamic brings a romantic thread to the film’s comedy, giving Tara another chance to show a different side of herself. Because apparently, mysterious characters and psychological thrillers aren’t the only things on her résumé.

5 Efrag

Tara took on one of her more layered roles in the Ramadan series Efrag, playing Karamella, a character balancing softness with strength and plenty of inner conflict. The role also gave her the chance to explore singing on screen for the first time, adding a new skill to her repertoire. Acting, modeling, and now singing? The Sparkle girl was clearly just getting started.

6 Darwish

Set in the 1940s, Darwish brought Tara into action territory as Kariman, in a story packed with chases and high-stakes moments. Another genre, another challenge, and another reminder that she isn’t interested in being boxed into one type of role.

Now, with The Mummy: Book of the Dead on the horizon, Tara is taking her next big step onto the international stage. And honestly, that old Sparkle question hits a little differently now. Turns out, she didn’t need someone to discover her talent as much as she needed the chance to show it.
