Saudi’s Ghada Aboud On How She Turns Stories Into Films

Festivals 16 December 2024 1:11

Saudi writer and actress Ghada Aboud began her career in journalism before leaving the field to focus on writing novels.

Since then, she has published several novels and is currently working on a screenplay, as well as a play titled Seliq, which is set to be performed at a festival in Riyadh.

Aboud sees acting as an extension of her writing, saying that the experience gives her new perspectives and helps inform her work. At the Red Sea International Film Festival, she is also meeting with producers and exploring funding opportunities for her film projects, which she has written and plans to act in.

Her goal is to connect with investors who see potential in the stories she wants to bring to the screen.
